M is for Maud... Tribute to Gorey

Thursday, 7 June 2012  at 21:47
The following graphite illustration is a small tribute to the illustrator Edward Gorey. This was inspired by his abecedarian book "The Gashlycrumb Tinies" where he tells the tales of 26 children dying the most unusual ways...

"N is for Neville who died of ennui"
"T is for Titus who flew into bits" and so on...

A bit on the macabre you might say but it's honestly quite fun!

"M is for Maud who was swept out to sea"

  2. Not sure I will illustrate all of them :D I will look into this Facebook button alright... As for the drawing, I would say the final sketch took about 10 hours to complete. Maybe a bit more, not sure!
